Our museum interpreters will prepare traditional foods on the open hearth using historic recipes. The menu includes roasted turkey, bread sauce stuffing-dressing, hearth bread and butter, Indian pudding, pumpkin stuffed with apples and cranberry sauce. Take a horse drawn wagon ride with Brandi and Lady, Remick Museum’s own Belgian mare horses or a tractor driven wagon ride, and make a historic craft, a pine cone turkey.
See a demonstration on how to properly "dress" a turkey- from slaughtering the bird, to plucking feathers, to cleaning and storing poultry. This activity will take place outdoors on the farm- only those interested in turkey processing will see the activity from 11:15 am – Noon.
Admission is $5 per person, which includes a sample plate of Thanksgiving fare, the horse drawn wagon ride and the craft activity. Make it Lunch! For an additional $5.00 you can have a full meal.Sample plate 6”; included with the admission—full meal plate 10”. Members and children ages 4 and under, free.
