Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm offers a children’s April Vacation Week Camp on Monday through Thursday, April 19-22, 2010, from 9am- 3pm and Friday April 23 9am-Noon. The programs are for ages 7-12. Choose to attend one, two, three, four or all five programs. The cost for each program is $40; sign up for all week for $150.
Children should come prepared for outdoor activity and indoor craft making. Send them with a lunch and one snack. Pre-registration is required; Remick Museum can take your registration over the phone using a credit card.

On Monday, April 19th we will learn about the animals on the farm and in the surrounding forests and waters. We will start with a farm tour and meet all of our farm animal friends. We will learn what all animals need to survive and what our role is in their survival. Wildlife abounds on the farm and we will learn how to identify the wildlife and the interaction of the wild animals on the farm.
On Tuesday, April 20th campers will learn about soil and gardening and all that is involved. Explore different types of soil and what can be added to make a garden healthier. Many activities are planned for this day including composting, understanding which bugs are good for your garden and which aren’t, learn about flax and how it can be processed into linen and make a tasty treat using the knowledge gained about plants and gardening. We will have our very own archaeological dig!
On Wednesday, April 21st we will explore our local water and weather systems. Find out the similarities and differences in our Farm’s pond, stream and brook. We will study the effect of the water cycle on the Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm.
On Thursday, April 22nd we will learn about the trees and the forests surrounding the farm. We will learn how to identify common trees and what trees were used for historically and today. The day will end with the building of our very own forest shelter in our woods!
On Friday the 23rd we will take what we have learned all week and create a exhibit for the Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm. There are several small service projects the campers will have an opportunity to take part in and be able to show the parents at the noon time unveiling! Remick Museum offers April Vacation Week Camp on April 19, 20, 21 and 22, 2009, from 9am- 3pm and April 23, from 9 am-noon. It provides children with opportunity to learn about farm life and enjoy the outdoors.
