3rd Annual

Dandelion Festival

SATURDAY, MAY 16, 2020 | 11AM–3PM


Join us for an event that enthusiastically explores the wonders of an often misunderstood plant!

  • Taste samples of delectable dandelion foods and beverages, including jelly and wine 
  • Explore the “Dandelions: Weed or Wonder?” exhibit in our Well Room
  • Watch soap making and plant dyeing demonstrations
  • Wander through the “Our Medicine Through Time” exhibit
    • Pull up a chair at the soda fountain to taste homemade rootbeer
    • Sip bitters and cordials at the Victorian apothecary
    • Have fun at the drug store trying dandelion cosmetics
  • View a live beehive and learn about bees, their relationship to the dandelion and more with Blackberry Hollow
  • Create a dandelion-themed craft
  • Paint a colorful flower pot  Additional $5 fee
  • Stretch during “Yoga in the Grass” led by Barbara McEvoy—Bring your mat  11:30AM & 2PM
  • Watch how water and its “hitchhikers” move through the ground with a watershed demonstration & Dip for pond critters: ID macroinvertebrates—both presented by Green Mountain Conservation Group 
  • Make a monoprint with New Hampshire artist Blair Folts
  • Picture yourself as a dandelion—snap a photo at our photo op display
  • Express your enthusiasm by getting a dandelion temporary tattoo
  • Sample Dande Jack Lemonade offered by Tamworth Distilling
  • Purchase dandelion honey, salve and tea, as well as handmade soap and bee products
  • Lunch items available for purchase from Dueling Chefs Smoke ‘n’ Grille Mobile Cuisine & Catering of Ossipee, New Hampshire—sample menu: 

COST: $10; $5 for ages 5–10; FREE for ages 4 and under
Members receive $2 off admission cost
