New! Summer Small Farmers Club

JULY & AUGUST | 10–11 AM

Hooray! More frequent club time for July and August.
For each club gathering, planned activities revolve around seasonal activity on the farm and include a hands-on component, with a story, craft and/or game, and exploration of the farm grounds.

17 | Checking Out the Chickens
Who says green eggs are only for Dr. Seuss? Join us in the Gazebo for story time and learn about the different breeds of chickens we have at Remick. Then, let’s feed the hens and collect the different colored eggs. We will return to the Gazebo for a game: “Which came first the chicken or the egg?”

31 | Kidding with the Goats
During story time in the Gazebo, we will learn what makes goats so special. Then, we’re off to feed and pet our Nubian goats and watch their antics. Back to the Gazebo to enjoy a snack: what else but goat cheese on crackers?

14 | This is the Way We Wash Our Clothes
Roll up your sleeves, get out the water buckets, washtub, scrub board, soap, and wringer. Join us in the backyard for a story and song. In the event of rain, this topic will move to Aug. 28 and "Holy Cow! Let’s Make Some Butter" will be the day's topic

28 | Holy Cow! Let’s Make Some Butter
After visiting some of our dairy cows, we will have a story time in the milk house and learn about cows and butter. Then, we will take turns churning butter. Everyone will enjoy homemade butter on crackers. If we experienced rain on Aug. 14, "This is the Way We Wash Our Clothes" will be the day's topic—call for info.

COST: $6 per child and each accompanying adult; for children ages 2–6.
Admission to the entire Museum & Farm is included with activity cost. Children should be dressed for time outdoors and the forecasted weather. Space is limited—pre-registration is required by the day prior to this activity, call 603-323-7591.
