AN OPEN-HEARTH COOKING EXPERIENCE

Hearthside Dinner

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 14, 2019 | 4–8PM

Assist in preparing a historical-style meal, savor the “historic” results!
The feel of a bygone era fills our cozy hearth room during these workshops, where a small group of participants joins in the preparation of a special meal cooked on our open hearth.

OVERVIEW OF THE EVENING
This engaging and delicious evening begins with Museum staff guiding you “back in time” to learn about 19th- and early-20th-century kitchens and food preparation. Using historical recipes and tools, participants prepare foods using traditional ingredients and techniques to create an authentic, seasonal farmstead meal.

When the meal is ready, gather together at the hearth table to enjoy the savory foods you helped to prepare. Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the meal.

Hearthside Dinners are informal, lively and fun! Participants are encouraged to try their hand at various aspects of meal preparation and to ask questions throughout the process. The evening’s menu is made available as the event date draws near, please call for the delicious details.

COST: $65 per person, ages 18 and above
Payment is due when your reservation is made. This is a BYOB-friendly event. (Due to the required tasks near and at the open fire, alcoholic beverages may be consumed during the meal portion of the evening only.)
