New series! Canning 101

SELECTED SUMMERTIME SATURDAYS | 1–4PM

Our blue-ribbon-winning executive director shares her canning tips!
Learn from our resident “master preserver” by joining Cara Sutherland in the Sugar House for one or more Canning 101 workshops. Each workshop will teach you the basics of preserving, to safely “put up” the season’s bounty. Where possible, Remick-harvested ingredients will be used. Participants will prepare recipes from start to finish and leave each workshop with a few jars to enjoy and share.


CANNING 101 WORKSHOPS | 1–4PM

1 | Saturday, July 14: Jams, Jellies, Marmalade & More
Learn to prepare delicious, sweet preserves.
Registration closes Wednesday, July 11/when filled.

2 | Saturday, July 28: Savory Pantry
Learn to prepare mustards, relishes, chutneys, and more.
Registration closes Wednesday, July 25/when filled.

3 | Saturday, August 4: Pickle This 
Learn traditional, refrigerator, and fermented pickling methods.
Registration closes Wednesday, August 1/when filled.
 
4 | Saturday, September 15: All About Tomatoes
Create basic marinara, chili sauce, tomato butter, and more.
Registration closes Wednesday, September 12/when filled.


Cost: $50 members; $60 non-members
These sessions are suitable for adults and students ages 16 and older. Class size is limited and pre-registration is required. Call 603-323-7592 to reserve—or perhaps we should say preserve—your spot.
