PROGRAM DEPARTMENT OPENINGS
We have position openings in the Program Department for the upcoming 2024 season. We are looking for a:

  • Program Assistant  Full-time, April-October 
  • Summer Program Intern  Full-time, May-August

Both positions report to the Program Manager and the successful candidates will aid in the delivery of nature and history-based educational programs for all ages — including classroom and homeschool groups, as well as summer visitors.

The farm and garden experience is an integral part of the museum visit and candidates should be comfortable operating garden tools, as well as handling, feeding, and working with small livestock.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 18 years of age or older and have a valid driver’s license. Must possess, or be working towards, a degree in education, history, environmental science, outdoor or experiential education, or other related fields. Current college or graduate students looking for professional museum experience are encouraged to apply for these positions.

FARM TEAM OPENINGS
Effective immediately, we have the following openings on the Farm Team. We are looking for a:
  • Full-Time Farm Assistant
  • Part-Time Assistant

Both positions report to the Farm Manager and the successful candidates will participate in animal care for a variety of livestock, milking duties for a small dairy operation, and some maintenance projects. Candidate should be comfortable handling cattle and small livestock (chickens, pigs, goats, and sheep).

In addition, he or she will participate in seasonal duties including, but not limited to, maple syrup production, hay making and storage, and snow removal. Tractor operation is necessary with experience in both automatic and manual transmission operation.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 18 years of age or older, have a valid driver’s license, and be willing to undergo a background check. Prior experience in farming, farm equipment operation, and basic maintenance duties is preferred. This position requires outside work in rain, heat, cold and snow. Candidate must be able to lift 50 lbs. and be willing to work at least one weekend day as part of their schedule.
