Enjoy a nostalgic holiday visit filled with twinkling trees\, timeless traditions\, festive music\, and a generous helping of old-fashioned Christmas cheer. \nSip a cozy cup of hot mulled cider as you wander through the Museum Center\, where each room features a uniquely trimmed Christmas tree inspired by the exhibit around it. Illuminated by candlelight\, soft twinkling bulbs\, or their own decorative glow\, the trees range from rustic creations to mid-century classics to sparkling wonders. \nThe Hearth Room invites you to linger awhile\, surrounded by holiday glow and historical Christmas touches. Throughout the Museum Center\, festive details offer joyful new surprises to discover around every corner. \nDuring your visit\, you can… \n+ Explore cherished Christmas traditions through heartwarming displays of vintage decorative blow molds\, nostalgic ceramic trees\, miniature holiday villages\, and more. \n+ Admire vintage Christmas ornaments on display from the historic Remick collection. \n+ Discover the fascinating story behind glass ornaments\, from their 19th-century beginnings to the present day\, including how they were designed and marketed. \n+ Enjoy winter blooms with a lovely display of seasonal bulbs and flowers—plus potted paperwhite bulbs are available for purchase to bring home to brighten and scent your home. \n+ Listen to familiar sounds of seasonal music filling the air as you explore. \n+ Settle in for a cozy spell to watch a bit of The House Without A Christmas Tree\, a heartwarming holiday film set in 1946. \n+ Visit the Apothecary to learn about the Tamworth Community Nurse Association\, established in 1921 and the only free skilled nursing service in the country. The organization also has historical ties to Remick. While supplies last\, their 2026 handcrafted collectible Christmas ornament will be available for purchase. \n+ Walk through the hallway of Doc & Marion’s mid-century apartment as you peek into each room to notice holiday touches that recall the same era\, including a Christmas tree with bubble lights and music playing in the background. Provided are the history of Christmas card-making during the Victorian era and all necessary materials; just bring yourself and your creativity! This is a drop-in workshop—come anytime during the Trees & Trimmings event.
