GENTLE, FARM-BASED LEARNING TIME

Young Farmers

ONE SATURDAY/MONTH THRU JUNE | 10–11AM

____________

Introduce your young child to the wonders of the farm!
Created and led by Program Manager/Educator Jim Cruickshank, our Young Farmers gathering is held one Saturday each month, February to June, and is for children ages 3-5. Participants explore the historic Remick farmstead by focusing on a new theme each month. Most lessons include time outside, a hands-on learning activity, and/or a story.

  • Each gathering is season-based and features discovery through the senses and hands-on activities.
  • Group interaction encourages a deeper understanding of each subject.
  • Each gathering primarily takes place outdoors in rain/snow or shine: participants should be dressed for the day’s weather.
  • This is not a drop-off program: caretakers should be prepared to be with the group and participate.
  • Class size is limited and may be impacted by the class topic; early registration is encouraged.

Cost for 1 child & 1 caretaker: $12 total/lesson | $10 for members/lesson
$5 for each additional child/adult.
Designed for students ages 3–5.
Pre-registration is required by closing time the Friday before each gathering date; we cannot accommodate walk-ins. Call (603) 323-7591 to register.

Registration & Cancellation Policies

Non-registration inquiries may be emailed to program manager Jim Cruickshank.

MAY 11 | The Colorful Farm
Spring on the farm brings a whole range of colors to explore! Participants will use their senses to see the farm in a whole new light.

JUNE 8 | It’s Garden Time
Late spring means the gardens can be planted in northern New England. Participants will learn what plants need to live and grow and help us get the Remick Children's Garden ready for the growing season. Everyone will have the opportunity to plant something to take home to watch and take care of all summer!
