FARM-FRESH DISCOVERIES

Late Summer on the Farm

JUNE 20–SEPTEMBER 21 | ACTIVITIES, TOURS & A DINNER

____________

Ahh... summer on the farm: bask in the fun!
The historic and agricultural uses, as well as the natural and picturesque landscape of our site, are at the heart of Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm. Whether through a guided activity or self-guided exploration, we seek to provide you with an enriching — and fun — experience.

This village farmstead was the location of the medical practice of Dr. Edwin Remick and his son, Dr. Edwin “Doc” Crafts Remick, from 1894–1993 (a combined 99 years!), as well as Doc Remick’s dairy farm, known as Hillsdale Farm (1934–1969). On the wishes of Doc Remick, the site opened as a museum in 1996, 28 years ago this year.

Make Remick your meet-up place for healthful and farm-fresh historic fun this summer!

FOR HISTORY ENTHUSIASTS
Get to know more about Tamworth and our quaint village...
  • The Tamworth History Center, located across from the Captain Enoch Remick House, is a great place to learn about the town of Tamworth. Their 2024 summer exhibit and programming theme is “Traditional Arts.” Several related events are scheduled. With a newly renovated second floor and expanded exhibit space, the Center is an enriching addition to your time in Tamworth. Hours: Wednesday and Saturday, 10AM–2PM, or by appointment.

  • Buried in nearby Ordination Rock Cemetery are Dr. Edwin Remick and his wife, Emily Crafts Remick, and Dr. Edwin “Doc” C. Remick and his wife, Marion Miles Remick.

  • If you have family roots in Tamworth, be sure to check out the historical records at Cook Memorial Library.

FOR FANS OF FARMERS MARKETS
Tamworth has a wonderful farmers market. If you visit Remick on a Saturday, a stop at the local market is worth your time and offers a taste of local music too — and it’s all within easy walking distance from our site! During summer, the market is held outdoors from 9AM-12PM at 30 Tamworth Road, the parking lot of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Eastern Slope.
