Caring for Our Own: A Practical Guide to After-Death Care at Home (Afternoon session)

Interest in home funerals and green burials is growing as more people seek meaningful, family-centered ways to care for their loved ones after death. This practical, hands-on workshop will help participants reclaim skills that were once commonly passed from generation to generation. Learn the essential steps of caring for someone after death at home, including preparing their body for burial, understanding legal requirements, creating a home vigil, and exploring home funeral and green burial options.

Join us in the Remick Museum Hearth Room for an informative presentation and guided, hands-on learning experience designed to give you the knowledge and confidence to care for your loved ones with dignity and compassion.

The workshop is taught by Lee Webster, a nationally recognized educator, author, and leader in the home funeral and green burial movement, and Julie Lanoie, a home funeral educator and advocate in the Mount Washington Valley, and the current director of the Tamworth Community Nurse Association. This is a FREE workshop, but preregistration is required.

A morning session is also available | 9:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
