Chronicling our history.
Let’s talk Remick! Whether you’re interested in our site’s history or have a historical story or detail to share, we invite you to take part in our important Oral History Project.

Oral History Project at Remick
Be a part of Remick history! Steve Smith, Vice Chair of the Remick Board of Trustees and seasoned oral history recorder, is gathering recollections about the Drs. Remick and their farmstead. All newly collected information will enrich the history currently housed in the museum’s archives.
This is an important project and your assistance could be crucial to its success!
PROJECT SUBJECTS
- Passed-down stories about the life and times of Dr. Edwin Remick, 1866-1935.
- First-hand accounts of the life and times of Dr. Edwin “Doc” C. Remick, 1903-1993.
- Passed-down stories, memories and first-person accounts about the Remick farmstead during the 1866-1933 timespan.
- Stories about non-monetary payments made to the doctors in exchange for medical care.
- Additional related details.
“HISTORY HOLDERS” & PROJECT VOLUNTEERS
We are seeking stories and historical information, as well as volunteers, in an effort to preserve stories about the Drs. Remick and related topics.
HISTORY HOLDERS
If you have historical knowledge or stories about the subjects of this project (listed above) we want to hear from you! Recording sessions take place at the museum on Mondays at 10:00 a.m., by appointment. Other times and off-site interviews may be possible under special circumstances.
VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers must be able to commit 2-4 hours per week (as needed) to assist with conducting interviews.
-
- Interviews will typically take place on Mondays in the museum’s Hearth Room.
- As with any oral history project, volunteers should be empathetic “listeners” and able to offer prompts when needed.
