As the autumn chill settles over Tamworth Village, settle into your seat in our cozy Tourism Room theatre to experience the roots of film’s horror genre. Surrounded by the history of New Hampshire’s spookier tourism sites, watch a spellbinding mini-screening of short films from the turn of the 20th century that capture the earliest known attempts to thrill, chill, and mystify audiences. To begin, and between each vintage showing, receive brief insights about early filmmaking, exploring how these silent, eerie masterpieces laid the groundwork for modern spooky cinema and why they still matter to film history today.
